Hey everyone,

The Seals will be playing this Saturday @ 2pm at USF against the San Fernando Valley Quakes. Make it a double header, and come to the Seals home game Saturday, show your Earthquakes vs. Galaxy ticket and receive entrance to the Seals game for only $4.00!

The Seals battle to regain the conference lead against the SFV Quakes on Saturday.

At the last home game we had some 06ers who made the trip out there and it was a fun time so it would be great to see more at this game.

The timing works out perfect to head out afterwards to Oakland to watch the San Jose Earthquakes vs. Los Angeles Galaxy @ 7pm.

Hope to see you at Negoesco on Saturday!

Future Looks Uncertain for Victory

According to a recent online discussion and rumors the 1906 have heard the future does not look good for the Victory returning to San Francisco in 2009.

Here are some USL VP Tim Holt’s words:

“There have been two groups that have engaged us in dialogue about the possibility of restarting in San Francisco in 2009, however there is nothing imminent. We have an obligation to be very thorough in assessing the viability of any USL-1 initiative in the San Francisco Bay Area before moving forward again, particularly as the return of the San Jose Earthquakes fills the void left by their departure for many fans.

Regardless of whether or not we return to San Francisco in 2009 or beyond, we are bullish about USL-1 expansion on the West Coast. There are several very professionally managed and well-established PDL franchises in key markets that have the wherewithal to make the jump to the professional division, as well as other interested groups in the aforementioned target markets which we believe are very strong candidates to join our league in 2009 or 2010.”

With the future uncertain, The 1906 Supporters will still be active supporting soccer throughout the bay area. Our initiatives include:

- Joining forces with the San Jose Ultras to support the San Jose Earthquakes this season. Visit: http://www.sjultras.com/ for more information

- The 1906 plans to support the San Francisco Seals fully this season as well. More information is to come!

- We are still working on the Save The Victory campaign as well trying to help facilitate the team’s returning to Kezar!

The 1906 Supporters celebrated the final home game of the season in peak form ending the first season of the Victory in San Francisco. After a great tailgate before the game with Sully’s famous burgers, the crew, with the help of the Ultras from San Jose were loud and crazy all game long supporting the Vics.

Although the game ended with a loss, it was still a celebration as the players made their way with the supporters to enjoy all the work of a long, crazy season at the Kezar Pub
